| What
motivates you to race?
winning. . .
having fun. . .
releasing stress. . .
When I’m on my quad, racing through the woods,
nothing in the world seems to matter. My drive and determination comes
out and the next 2 hours is nothing but pure adrenaline rush.
In some states a competitive ATV racing series is
hard to find due to the lack of commitment and motivation. We wanted to
help IATVHSS in the sport of ATV racing to continue their great series.
Without their volunteers, sponsors and land owners the ability to get
on your quad and go race would be hard to come by. If you want to see
this sport live on riders need to start giving back, in the form of volunteering
and just getting your buddies, neighbors and most of all kids involved
in the sport.
To think that it all started with just one race.
Jason McCoy said that there was a race at Millville. I was reluctant,
he was pumped, how could I tell him no? There we met Jerry Costello and
from that day forward Jason and I were hooked on racing and Jerry had
become best of friends with Jason and I. Little did we know at the time
Mr. Andy Kyner was there racing his wolverine in the utility class.
When we discovered that Iowa was going to start
IATVHSS I couldn’t wait for the first race to start. Midway thru
the first year in 2004 we couldn’t believe that everyone helped
each other out on the track and in the pits from the simplest problems
to the most complex. Four years later the willingness to help each other
has not gone away. We met so many new people and have came away with friendships
that we hope will continue to last for years to come. Despite the many
times I said was going to retire, I keep coming back for more. How could
we not?
With all these wonderful things that I have taken
from this series my family has decided that it was about time for us to
give back. We wanted to show our appreciation to Andy & Tracy Kyner,
the entire track crew, volunteers, land owners and to each and every one
of our friendships made because of this series. You all are truly the
best!!!!
Best of Luck,
Hohnekes (aka Honkys)
